CAMBRIDGE, MA -
Senator Dianne Feinstein today endorsed Jeff Ross in his race for
State Senate. Ross worked on Feinstein’s successful bid for the U.S.
Senate in 1992 and followed Feinstein to Washington, D.C. as her
intern.
Senator Feinstein said, "Jeff was a
hardworking and dedicated intern in my Washington office and I know
that he will make a great State Senator. His dedication to issues of
human and civil rights and his leadership as an outspoken and
hardworking advocate for communities most at risk for injustice will
serve his district well. I urge you to vote for Jeff Ross on
September 11.”
Ross says he is very proud to have been
part of the historical effort in 1992 to elect the first two female
U.S. Senators from California, Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer.
When Senator Feinstein took office as a freshman Senator, Ross spent a
year as her intern on the Capitol Hill. "It was an honor for me to
work with Senator Feinstein -- she was a guide and inspiration as I
started my work on civil rights issues.”
Ross is a candidate in the race to replace
Senator Barrios in the Middlesex, Suffolk, Essex Senate seat. The
primary special election in this race is set for next Tuesday,
September 11.
